Gary’s July 4th Parade was held on 07/01/2022 starting at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. It began on 15th & Broadway. For those who do celebrate Independence Day–to each his own.
The July 4th celebration is a celebration of white history’s independence. Not Blacks. Listen. Our Black ancestors where still slaves. Anywho AmeriKKa is all they/we knew, so in essence when in Roman. Right.
To all those Black idiots who pop off firecrackers to celebrate something their ancestors never had. Go figure. When in Rome right?
Please help Garyians to understand. For one, why would a parade be held on a week day, and on a Friday? Listen for those that do work, without pressing 2 for Spanish they have barely made it straight home. They have chores, errands, and obligations that they put off until the eagle flies on Friday.
On Friday’s they rush home to do their chores, and/or pick up their children. Cook their dinner, clean, etc. All the things they were unable to do because of all the hours spent at work. They would love a family parade outing if the timing was conducive to those humping for a living.
In other words, the timing sucks. I know you cannot please all the people all the time. How about pleasing some of the people, some of the time? Not those who just speak Spanish in a nation of immigrants, but Garyside digresses.
A July 4th celebration. A Federal Holiday. EVERYONE is off that day. All inclusive. Garyside understands this concept. After all, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” Right.
On the other hand, Juneteenth was how many days ago? How many agencies refused to even recognize it. Even though it was a Federal Holiday, many federal agencies blew it off. This brings Garyside to its next point . . .

Let’s fast forward to July 4th. A national holiday. Ironically it was not Black folk’s Independence day. Our ancestral forefathers were still put in slavery and were still slaves. It does not matter how many non-black folks your black ass marry you cannot change history!!!!!!!
